Precautions for using natural stone

Natural stone is generally divided into three categories: marble, granite and slate.

Marble is a lime metamorphic rock, with bright colors and luster, showing various cloud-like patterns. The disadvantage is that it will lose its luster after long-term exposure to the sun and rain, so it is only suitable for interior decoration.

Granite is formed with volcanic eruptions. It belongs to igneous rock and has a coarse-grained structure. It can maintain its luster for a long time when used outdoors. Most of the exterior walls of high-end buildings are decorated with granite.

Slate is a sedimentary rock. It does not need special processing after being mined from the mountain, so it is cheap and can be used as roof tiles, floors and walls, but it is generally only used for embellishment and not used in large areas.

Buying stone can start from the following aspects:

1. Marble or granite should be selected according to the occasion of use. For example, only granite can be used for the outdoor floor, and marble is better for the living room floor, because it has bright patterns, rich colors, and is easy to match with furniture of various colors.

2. Choose the variety of stone according to the color of furniture and fabric, because each marble or granite has its unique pattern and color.

After the stone is decorated, it must be treated with a special protective agent to truly present its essence and last as new.
